Hey… Have you noticed this?
You open Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn and scroll for a minute. Or even look at most video thumbnails. You’ll notice something strange, interesting, and at the same time equally boring.
Business posters, product ads, event flyers, and promotional graphics increasingly look like they came from the same designer. The layouts are similar. The style is similar. The lighting and finish are similar. Even the people in the posters often have the same expressions.
No wonder, it’s the AI era! Everything becomes easier but also common when everyone uses the same way. Everything also starts looking the same.
Some people have even started calling this the “AI Flyer Pandemic”.
Identity Crisis
At first, AI-generated designs felt fresh and exciting. Later on, now, they’ve become so common that we can often tell when a poster was made using AI.
The real issue isn’t that AI designs are bad. They’re often visually beautiful. The problem is repetition. When thousands of businesses rely on the same tools, prompts, and styles, their visual identities begin to disappear.
And when everything looks similar, people stop paying attention. Nothing stands out.
Past in 2x Mode
This isn’t the first time we are seeing this happen.
There was a time when templates became widely available through platforms like Canva.
When they got popular, suddenly, anyone could create an impressive design themselves without a designer or in much less time. This was a great change because it made design accessible to everyone.
But just like now, after a while, posters, invitation letters, slides and even resumes started using the same templates, the same layouts, and the same styles.
AI is kind of doing the same thing, but at a much faster pace.

Quantity, Quality, Authenticity
The number of content has also shot up! Since generating creatives using AI takes is cheaper, businesses often create more posters for every occasion and incident rather than investing in one carefully crafted ‘identity’ design.
And people are generating hundreds of posters using regular or simple or similar prompts. The result is a flood of designs that look polished but don’t feel unique.
A real image just like how the customer is actually served communicates and connects better than a less original one.
For example, a café may have the beautiful AI-generated coffee poster on Instagram, but customers eventually notice the difference between a perfect AI cappuccino and the one actually served. Real stuffs communicate honesty and honesty builds trust.
Likewise, a restaurant doesn’t become trustworthy because its burger looks perfect in an image. People often trust businesses when they see real food.
Authenticity creates a connection that perfect AI images often cannot.
Never a “NO”
Saying this doesn’t mean that we should stop using AI.
AI is one of the best creative and learning tools we have today. It saves time, reduces effort and costs, and helps individuals and small businesses run without depending completely on experts.
So, the goal shouldn’t be to reject AI. The goal should be to use it differently. Think of it as a creative assistant, not a replacement for your identity.
They can try changing the prompt. It’s about creating posters that no one else can create.
Instead of asking AI:
“Create a promotional poster for my business.”
Try saying:
“Here are photos of my shop, my products, and my team. Create a poster that keeps everything real while improving the layout, lighting, and overall presentation.”
Or try adding something like:
∙ Make the design look like a real photograph, not a fantasy advertisement.
∙ Use natural lighting, realistic colors, and authentic expressions.
∙ Keep small imperfections that make the image feel real and trustworthy.
∙ Make this look like a local business that people know, not a global stock advertisement.
In a world where anyone can generate beautiful designs in seconds, content is no longer enough. Authenticity becomes your biggest advantage. People will remember that.
